Solid Edge licenses can be purchased online as Solid Edge XaaS, Solid Edge XaaS Floating or Solid Edge X license types:
Solid Edge XaaS and Solid Edge X support the addition of Solid Edge Value-Based Licensing token packs to enable access to add-on products. Additional add-on products can also be purchased as separate licenses.
Solid Edge Value-Based Licensing allows you to choose to add on specific capabilities you want when you need them. This flexible licensing option – available through your Solid Edge XaaS subscription – gives you instant access to powerful tools, including Generative Design Pro, Point Cloud Visualization, Electrical Routing, PCB Collaboration, Advanced PMI, Simulation, and Solid Edge XpresRoute. With a flexible token system, users can easily mix and match add-on products, as needed.
Solid Edge XaaS Value-Based Licensing tokens are available for purchase online in packs of 25 and 50.
Solid Edge X Value-Based Licensing tokens are available for purchase online in packs of 10, 25 and 50.

Solid Edge 2024 has been certified to run on the following:
• Windows 10 Enterprise or Professional (64-bit only) version 20H2 or later
• Or Windows 11 Enterprise or Professional version 21H2 or later
• Internet Explorer 11
Solid Edge, while not dependent on any other browser, has been certified against other modern and popular browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.
• Microsoft Office 2019, 2021, and Microsoft Office 365 Business
Note:
• Windows Home Edition is not supported
• We recommend that you not run Solid Edge on Server operating systems
• Solid Edge stops certifying new releases against an operating system shortly after Microsoft drops mainstream support for it. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Windows 7 in January 2015. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Windows 8.1 in January 2018. As a result, Solid Edge no longer installs on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1

Solid Edge X is Solid Edge in a secure SaaS environment. It offers core capabilities of Solid Edge along with built-in cloud data management, cloud-enabled services including installation distribution and updates, ad-hoc collaboration via Teamcenter Share; it utilizes cloud-enabled named user licensing.
Yes, customers can use their existing Solid Edge automation API and add-ins in Solid Edge X.
Solid Edge X is installed via Siemens Software Center on your local machine. It leverages cloud-based named user licensing.
Solid Edge X will display a notification in the user’s login dialog when any update will be available. Users can decide if and when they wish to update their Solid Edge X installation.
Automatic updates do not mean that Solid Edge X will be updated without a user’s consent.
Named user licensing utilizes the identity of individual users where these licenses are hosted and managed on the cloud. Users can install Solid Edge names licenses on multiple machines, e.g. workplace and home, and use cloud-enabled named user licensing to access the software seamlessly as needed.
If a named user loses internet connection, then they can continue using core Solid Edge X capabilities for 24 hours and token enabled add-ons for 5 hours. Beyond this duration, they should connect to internet to refresh their entitlements to continue using Solid Edge X.
Yes, Solid Edge X can work with customer’s existing on-premises Teamcenter Server.
Yes, all of the out-of-the-box integrations between Teamcenter, Teamcenter X and Solid Edge will be available for Solid Edge X.
If the customer is not using any data management solution, such as built-in data management, on-premises Teamcenter or Teamcenter X, then they can store their data locally or a network location or in Solid Edge Data Management.
In the case of built-in cloud data management or Teamcenter X, the data will be stored in the cloud storage.
In the case of on-premises Teamcenter, the data will be stored in their Teamcenter environment.
In the case the customer uses Teamcenter Share, then the data will be stored in cloud storage allocated to their ECA.
Yes, built-in cloud data management and Teamcenter Share for ad-hoc collaboration are included in all Solid Edge X seats.
Solid Edge X will be available in all countries, except China.
Yes, all stand-alone and add-on CAM XaaS products will work with Solid Edge X.
