Yes, every seat of NX X comes with built-in data management. However, if you already are using on-premises Teamcenter, Teamcenter X or saving data to the operating system, you can continue to do so.

You have the following options for data storage with NX X: 

• If you have Teamcenter X, the data will be stored in the cloud. 
• If you are using the built-in data management, it will be stored in the cloud (within that environment). 
• If you are using on-premises Teamcenter, the data is stored in the Teamcenter environment. 

NX X software leverages leading cloud technology for data protection and data security and has been independently verified for data security and integrity by third-party security testing. More information on how Siemens is protecting your data can be found at Siemens Trust Center.

You can set your own customer defaults.

Yes, this is a flexibility that you have with NX X. You can scale up or down using the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console. 

Synchronization allows you to have access to your personal configurations and common settings, preferences and customizations from any machine—enabling you to switch machines without passing files around or duplicating configurations. 

Yes, with NX X you can provide access to licenses outside of your business-headquarted country as all NX X seats are global licenses.

NX X Value Based Licensing extends product development features and capabilities of NX X Design solutions with a flexible, cost-effective way for you to run over 100 NX X Design add-on modules. Whether you need to use certain modules on a daily basis or occasional need, you can easily access them on-demand. With just one subscription price, you can easily customize your solution to fit your requirements with any product in the token pool.

With NX X Value Based Licensing, you can:

• Reduce cost of ownership and risk of over-investment
• Run what is needed from a large pool of available products, allowing you to seamlessly scale up or down as needed
• Run occasionally-needed products without having to make a separate purchase

There is a constantly growing pool of add-on products available through tokens, and with NX X managed updates, you can access these new features the second they are released and available.

With NX X Value Based Licensing, or token-licensing, all add-on modules for NX X Design are in a "token pool." These add-on modules include capabilities that may not be included in the core capabilities of your core seat license. For example, NX Immersive Explorer and NX Immersive Designer are add-on modules that are exclusively available via token-licensing.

Accessing NX X add-on modules with NX X Value Based Licensing:

1. Your company can purchase a fixed amount of tokens. On our website, we sell NX X Value Based Licensing in token-packs of 50.
2. Each add-on module consumes a defined number of tokens while they are in use. Any named-user in your company can access and use any NX X add-on module in the token pool, as long as you don't exceed the combined token count that you have purchased. Simply click on the desired application in NX X to check-out the add-on module with tokens.
3. When you exit NX X or stop using an add-on module, the allotted amount of tokens returns to the total company pool. This creates a seamless check-in and check-out system.

An example of NX X Value Based Licensing at work:

There’s a team creating the digital twin for a coffee machine. The team is comprised of four engineers, each having a named-user license for NX X Design Standard plus a total of 120 tokens in the pool. Engineer one and two log on at 9:00am. The first engineer needs 17 tokens for NX Draw Shape to add a coffee bean logo to the exterior, and needs two hours to complete the task. Engineer two needs to use NX Algorithmic Modeling to create visual interest for the coffee bean hopper. NX Algorithmic Modeling requires 25 tokens, and will take roughly two hours, leaving 78 tokens left in the token pool.

Engineer three needs to access Performance Predictor to analyze the performance of the coffee press mechanism. Although this will require 89 tokens from the pool, engineer one and two have completed their tasks, resulting in the tokens being added back to the pool. And finally, engineer four needs Animation Designer to create marketing collateral for the internal mechanism. This requires 24 tokens, but needs to be done after the Performance Predictor analysis is complete, meaning they can wait and access a fully stocked token pool.

A yearly subscription of NX X Value Based Licensing (50 count) includes 50 tokens to access any of the 100+ NX X Design add-on modules in the token pool. You can get as many subscriptions as needed for your usage. A full list of products available in the token pool and their token values can be found in the NX X application by navigating to Help → About NX.

An core seat license is a prerequisite for NX X Value Based Licensing.

You can purchase the NX X Value Based Licensing (50 count) directly from our website. Note that a core seat license (NX X Design Standard, Advanced or Premium) is a prerequisite for NX X Value Based Licensing.

You can get as many subscriptions as needed for your usage, which may depend on how many add-on modules you want to use, their token values and how many users are accessing the pool. A full list of products available in the token pool and their token values can be found in the NX X application by navigating to Help → About NX.

There are no additional costs for running your NX X Value Based Licensing subscription. A core seat license is a prerequisite for NX X Value Based Licensing and both are recurring, yearly subscription costs.

NX X Value Based Licensing is updated with each new NX X release, allowing you to access new add-on modules that become available on day one.

NX X is released on a Continuous Release schedule, with automatic updates and improvements managed and delivered by Siemens on a frequent, ongoing basis. There are point updates monthly, with major releases of NX X every 6 months, which include the new add-on modules to access via NX X Value Based Licensing.

Yes. Since NX X Value Based Licensing is a floating license, all named users in an organization are able to consume the tokens from the same token pool.
