Workstations: NX December 2024 is certified to run on a number of desktop and mobile HP, Dell, Lenovo, Fujitsu, MSI and Siemens workstations.
Graphics cards: NX December 2024 is also certified to be supported by a number of AMD Firepro/Radeon Pro, NVIDIA Quadro and Intel HD graphics cards. These graphics cards are supported only when used in supported systems configured by the OEM and using the recommended driver. No eGPUs or external graphics devices have been or are planned to be certified.

NX December 2024 can be run with a number of certified cloud configurations with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft VMD and Amazon AWS.

Extended CAD/CAM/CAE functionality for NX CAD solutions is available through add-on modules. There are over 100 NX CAD modules available for core design, industrial design and styling, product design, model-based definition, knowledge reuse, design validation, routed systems, electrical systems, PCBs, jigs/fixtures/tooling, part manufacturing, mechatronic design as well as industry-specific applications.
They are capabilities within the NX CAD application and do not require additional installation or downloads.
For the NX X Design solutions, you can unlock access to all 100+ of the add-on modules available for NX X with NX X Value Based Licensing tokens. Add-on modules include capabilities that may not be included in the core capabilities of your core seat license. For example, NX Immersive Explorer and NX Immersive Designer are add-on modules that are exclusively available via token-licensing.
Our innovative, flexible, cost-effective token-model allows you to pick, choose and use functionality you need, when you need it. Whether you need to use certain modules on a daily basis or occasional need, you can easily access them on-demand. With just one subscription price with floating tokens, you can easily customize your solution to fit your requirements with any product in the token pool.
You use NX X Value Based Licensing to automatically check-in and check-out add-on modules. When an add-on is checked out by a user, the token value is subtracted from the pool. When that product is no longer in use, its token value is added back to the available pool. NX X Value Based Licensing is a floating license, so all named users in an organization leveraging the NX X Design Solutions can consume tokens from the same token pool.
Tokens go into a pool that is accessible to all named users. You can check out multiple add-on modules at a time, as long as the token allotment does not exceed the total purchased amount at any given time.
Whether it's a module for design, validation, simulation, electrical systems, PCBs, mechatronics or anything ese, you can access over 100 different NX CAD/CAM/CAE capability add-ons just by clicking the feature you want to use.
Start using the desired module in NX X to automatically check it out with tokens. When you exit NX X or stop using an add-on, you check-in the module and the allotted amount of tokens returns to the total pool.
There’s a team creating the digital twin for a coffee machine. The team is comprised of four engineers, each having a named-user license for NX X Design Standard plus a total of 120 tokens in the pool. Engineer one and two log on at 9:00am. The first engineer needs 17 tokens for NX Draw Shape to add a coffee bean logo to the exterior, and needs two hours to complete the task. Engineer two needs to use NX Algorithmic Modeling to create visual interest for the coffee bean hopper. NX Algorithmic Modeling requires 25 tokens, and will take roughly two hours, leaving 78 tokens left in the token pool.
Engineer three needs to access Performance Predictor to analyze the performance of the coffee press mechanism. Although this will require 89 tokens from the pool, engineer one and two have completed their tasks, resulting in the tokens being added back to the pool. And finally, engineer four needs Animation Designer to create marketing collateral for the internal mechanism. This requires 24 tokens, but needs to be done after the Performance Predictor analysis is complete, meaning they can wait and access a fully stocked token pool.
There is a constantly growing pool of add-on products available through tokens, and with NX X managed updates, you can access these new features the second they are released and available.
The NX X Value Based Licensing token pool is updated with each new NX X release, allowing you to access new add-on modules that become available on day one.
NX X is released on a Continuous Release schedule, with automatic updates and improvements managed and delivered by Siemens on a frequent, ongoing basis. There are point updates monthly, with major releases of NX X every 6 months, which include the new add-on modules to access via NX X Value Based Licensing.

With this token-licensing model, you only need one subscription to unlock access to over 100 add-on modules in the NX X token pool. This flexible model allows you to pick, choose and use the functionality you need, as you need it, without paying for functionality that you don't need.
You can purchase NX X Value Based Licensing directly from our website in packs of 50. You can get as many subscriptions as needed for your usage, and if you need more tokens, you can easily purchase more at any time to add to your team's pool with just a few clicks.
A yearly subscription of NX X Value Based Licensing (50 count) includes a floating license for 50 tokens to access any of the 100+ NX X Design add-on modules in the token pool. You can get as many subscriptions as needed for your usage, which may depend on how many add-on modules you want to use, their token values and how many users are accessing the pool. There are no additional costs for running the NX X Value Based Licensing subscription, but note that a core seat license (NX X Design Standard, Advanced or Premium) is a prerequisite for NX X Value Based Licensing. They are both recurring, yearly subscription costs.
A few options are available for learning NX core capabilities and the capabilities enabled via NX X Design Value Based Licensing:
Getting up and running with your NX X Design solutions is simple. Once you are set up in the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console, it only takes five clicks to fully deploy NX X with built-in data management.
Once you have accepted the license agreement, you will receive an email to set up users in the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console. Here, you can view license details (products, site IDs, start dates, expiration dates, amount of licenses, amount of NX X storage and amount of NX X users) of each NX X product as well as view and manage assigned users. You can manage users for Teamcenter Share here as well.
To assign a user to a product, simply enter their email and their region. Note that with NX X, you can provide access to NX X outside of your business-headquartered country, as all NX X seats are global licenses.
Named users can be changed by the administrator as needed.
Once assigned, each user will receive an email for getting started with NX X. Create or log in to your Siemens account to download Siemens Software Center (SSC). With SSC, you can download, install, activate and update your software.
Once you have installed SSC, you will see your NX X product and can click "Install". The installation will take around 30 minutes.
Once you have installed NX X, click "Open" in SSC to launch NX X and immediately start designing. You will launch NX X from SSC each time you need it.
In NX X, you can set your own customer default settings. You can also synchronize settings and preferences, which allows you to have access to your personal configurations and common settings, preferences and customizations from any machine. Thus, you can easily switch machines without passing files around or duplicating configurations.
Your team's NX X Value Based Licensing tokens are automatically connected to each instance of NX X. Simply start using a token-enabled capability in NX X to check-out the module. Once you stop using it or close NX X, the tokens will go back into your team's token pool.
To use built-in data management powered by Teamcenter X Essentials within NX X: After you have installed NX X, download "Teamcenter Integration for NX X" from SSC. Once installed, click the "NX X (Managed)" icon from your desktop.
To integrate Teamcenter X Standard, Advanced or Premium with NX X: After you have installed NX X, use the provided package from your Teamcenter purchase to install the Teamcenter prerequisites. The desktop icon and script will be automatically created. Once installed, click the "NX X (Managed)" icon from your desktop.
To integrate Teamcenter on-premises with NX X: After you have installed NX X, install the prerequisite Teamcenter components from your Teamcenter installation kit. Write a script then create a desktop icon as a shortcut for opening NX X (Managed) with on-premises Teamcenter.
You can always view Teamcenter information in NX X from the Resource Bar. Note that you are not required to use built-in data management or Teamcenter, but built-in data management is included in NX X Design Standard, Advanced and Premium core seats.
NX X is a local install, but entitlement, configuration, data management and updates are in the cloud. This ensures that you will have access to the newest version of NX as soon as it is available, including monthly point releases and major 6-month releases. New add-on modules are available in each 6-month release. Simply click "Update" in SSC.
When you open NX X, you will see Discovery Center. Here, you can use the "New to NX?" section for introductory learning. You can also explore the "Discover NX" and "What's New" tabs to learn details about features and functionality in NX.
