Unlock unlimited flexibility with value-based licensing
Value-based licensing is a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective way to augment your NX capabilities with a wide range of advanced and specialist functionality. While NX X Value Based Licensing is not new in this release, many of the new features and capabilities available in this release are unlocked through token-licensing. With NX X Value Based Licensing, you unlock immediate access to new capabilities as they are released—no additional purchases, licenses or manual updates needed.
Simply purchase a pool of floating NX X Value Based Licensing tokens for your team, and start using a capability in NX to automatically check-out an add-on module for its token value. Once you close NX X or stop using the module, the add-on module is automatically checked back in and the tokens used return to your team's pool.
New AI-enabled design features in NX CAD
NX X Copilot
Have a natural language conversation with Design Copilot NX for advice on using NX software and add-on modules. Powered by generative AI and large language models, the copilot will base its answers on the documentation for the specific version of NX that you’re using.
It will even provide links to the full documentation if you want extra information and you can launch any commands that the copilot mentions direct its responses. Hover over a command to see where it is in the user interface for future reference.
NX Voice
Interact with NX X Copilot intuitively and effortlessly with spoken voice commands. NX Voice really shines for NX Immersive Designer or touchscreen users.

NX Immersive Designer
Create, view and edit 3D CAD designs like never before in virtual reality or augmented reality, with full access to the full NX workspace through both physical and virtual monitors.
You can either interact with the model directly with the hand-held controllers or use NX as normal and see your changes update instantly in AR or VR. Seamlessly switch between traditional and immersive engineering with a fully bidirectional extension of NX CAD into the virtual space.
NX Immersive Collaborator
Experience immersive design review at the next level, with NX Immersive Collaborator as you can collaborate in the same virtual reality space with your colleagues.
Start a collaboration session straight from the NX workspace in just a few clicks. A full range of design review tools let you measure, assess and annotate individual parts or entire assemblies.
Sony XR head-mounted display
Explore Immersive Engineering: Designed in exclusive collaboration with Siemens, the Sony XR head-mounted display and controllers are optimized specifically for 3D design.
Dual 4k micro-organic LED (OLED) displays mean unparalleled fidelity when viewing designs. New add-on modules in NX June 2025
First article inspection and characteristics management
Add model-based characteristics to your product’s digital twin to define downstream quality and manufacturing processes with a groundbreaking new module, NX Inspector. Designcenter is the first CAD-native platform to implement the Digital Metrology Standards Consortium’s Model-Based Characteristics standard.
Design for manufacturability checkers
Automate early manufacturability assessments with the new NX Design for Manufacture (DFM) Advisor. It can analyze your data, identify potential challenges and provide actionable feedback. When you leverage Teamcenter Integration for NX, you can generate reports to share with colleagues and partners, while using the insights to drive additional workflows.
Fluid flow and thermal simulation
Access fluid flow and thermal simulation capabilities directly within the NX CAD workspace for the first time with NX CFD Designer. This module is a brand-new design simulation tool powered by Simcenter™ FLOEFD technology.
It’s designed to be easy to use for those without CFD experience, with robust automation tackling complex tasks like fluid volume detection and meshing on your behalf. Quickly evaluate a range of operating scenarios and geometry variations at once and compare the results.
Capabilities updates in NX June 2025
NX Sketch
Experience peace of mind to sketch more freely and naturally, knowing that NX can take care of geometric precision for you. The new Sketch Checker automatically checks a sketch for common ‘near miss’ issues, such as lines that are not quite parallel or curves that are not quite tangent. Issues appear both in the Graphics Window and the Sketch Navigator and NX can automatically correct issues with a single click.
NX Realize Shape
Explore new commands within NX Realize Shape. The new Blend Curve on Surface and Chamfer Cage commands add even more flexibility to subdivision modeling in NX for creating complex and organic geometry.
Chamfer Cage gives you finer control over transition areas on a design by apply chamfers to the cage controlling a subdivision body. Blend Curve on Surface enables you to edit curves directly on the surface of a subdivision body for a quicker, more intuitive workflow.
NX Mold Wizard
Quickly see the impact of your changes as standard parts now update in real time as you set configurations. Design cooling systems better and faster through enhanced cooling channel design with intuitive direct channel creation.
Reduce the risk of failures and improve the quality of finished molded products with mold fill simulation. Mold cost reports are now compatible with more complex mold designs and you can generate detailed design for manufacturing reports to flag potential issues with stakeholders.
NX Performance Predictor
Get an even greater level of insight into your products’ performance under a variety of loads. Now, you can run mechanical stress analyses from NX Performance Predictor across entire assemblies as well as individual parts.
